Dr. John Marenbon, 英国剑桥大学三一学院哲学博士，毕业后即留校任职至今，现为三一学院高级研究员，2009年当选英国人文与社会科学院（British Academy）院士。2009年应邀赴巴黎四大（索邦）讲授中世纪哲学，并将于今年秋季成为多伦多大学中世纪研究中心首位杰出访问学者。Marenbon博士对中世纪哲学有全面而深入的把握，尤其擅长逻辑与形而上学论题的剖析。其著述甚丰：From the Circle of Alcuin to the School of Auxerre (1981), Aristotle in Britain during the Middle Ages (1996) The Philosophy of Peter Abelard (1997), Aristotelian Logic, Platonism, and the Context of Early Medieval Philosophy in the West (2000), Boethius (2003)，Le temps, la prescience et les futures contingents de Boèce à Thomas d’Aquin(2005)，而近著Medieval Philosophy: An Historical and Philosophical Introduction (2007)取代他本人早年备受好评的Early Medieval Philosophy(1983) 与Later Medieval Philosophy (1987)，已被学界广泛接受为当前最权威的中世纪哲学导论。此外，他为劳特利奇出版社主编的《中世纪哲学》已经译成中文出版。
